Metzelder moves Schalke

Former Germany defender Christoph Metzelder of will leave Real Madrid CF in the summer after signing a three-year contract with FC Schalke 04, currently second in the Bundesliga.

The 29-year-old was an excellent reputation with BV Borussia Dortmund won the 2001/02 and founded the German title, but after moving to Madrid in 2007, his career marred by injury, as far as it has played only 23 games Santiago Bernabeu side.

As the 2002 Games and 2006 FIFA World Cup, he won the last of his 47 caps for Germany in the UEFA Euro 2008 defeat against Spain.
